Most of us are now aware of the damage inflicted on the 4th green 2 weeks ago. As widely reported throughout national newspapers, the hole was not the 18th, but the 4th, and spare a thought for both the outgoing Golf Club Manager John Phyllis, and the incoming Manager Mike Reid – who had incidentally only been in the job for 2 days when it happened.
As the area intensifies with population growth, we can unfortunately assume anti social behaviour will rise, so it is imperative that we work together as a community to keep an eye out for each other, and also support the local security team at Insite Security. Chris and his team do a great job around Omaha, and have recently upgraded the round about cameras with a state of the art solution. Insite have also been instrumental in helping Police catch another recent vandal, who they were able to track courtesy of the cameras.
This years Annual Planning Forum hosted at the Community Centre by the OBC in November will discuss in detail the security levy, and ways that we can increase the security of home owners, clubs and visitors alike. If you are passionate or concerned about this issue, we recommend your attendance. Date is tentatively booked for mid to late December.
