Thanks to all residents who responded to the newsletter after the flooding on Christmas Eve. We have now mapped some key areas for the council to consider while they draft plans to (hopefully) fix the northern end stormwater issues once and for all.
To recap, In January, the OBC arranged a comprehensive site visit from the heads of the Auckland Council Stormwater team, the result being a commitment to design and implement a number of important changes to the infrastructure that handles storm water in the northern end. Key areas that were examined were Day Dawn, Edith, Esme, Southern Isle, Twilight, Ruby Cove and Success court. Issues at May Way, and Omaha Drive have now been added to their list.
In addition, they are examining the best way to resolve future flooding on Mangatawhiri Drive, and a possible solution to flooding on Paraoa Crescent.
We expect works to begin this year. Thanks again to the local board for your support.
