From Council ….
Kia ora,
Auckland Council’s “Let’s protect our environment” consultation is open and will run until 11:59pm on Sunday 8 December 2024.
The council are seeking your input on how we, altogether as a region can protect things Aucklanders value – like our indigenous species and ecosystems, Māori cultural values, rural primary production, and the safety and wellbeing of our communities and natural habitats.
We have a current plan that guides how we do this which runs from 2020 – 2030. Since this was created though, new threats to our natural environment and primary industries have emerged.
Creating our new plan can be a lengthy process, so we need to start reviewing it now to ensure it is fit for purpose and ready for Tāmaki Makaurau / Auckland by 2030.
Before we begin drafting the new plan, we want your feedback on specific issues to get a better understanding of your views. You are also welcome to let us know of anything else that you think we should consider.
Altogether, we can protect our natural environment, Māori cultural values, biodiversity and economy and achieve more than we could alone.
Let’s protect our environment – together.
