A brief update today from John Cranfield, Operational Management & Maintenance Area Manager, Community Facilities in the Customer & Community Services Directorate at Auckland Council
- We expect the surface clearance up to the tennis courts to be completed late this week / early next. This means the fencing in front of all the residential properties will come down shortly after (and well in time for the holiday season).
- I’m told that plastic mesh fencing is being installed in the esplanade adjoining the golf course (I’ve reinforced to not interfere with the putting green and was told the plastic mesh would be at the top of the gabion rock wall but not on the green itself).
- The approach for physical works will be to work from both ends towards the middle and at this stage are on track to complete the clearance works by 20 Dec (barring any unforeseen circumstances).
- In the new year (well after the holiday period) we will be looking to undertake comprehensive soil samples of the areas that have been cleared but this should have only minimal impact for the public / residents / club members.
