With the storm building in intensity, Omaha Beach Community, Omaha Beach Golf Club and the Omaha Neighbourhood Watch teams have set up the Community Centre as an emergency centre IF NEEDED. It will be opened if the need arises across the next 48 hours.
If you need shelter across this period, please call Tanya Svendsen in the first instance on 021 677 744.
NOTE – Northland Waste has advised that there will no Rubbish collection tomorrow Monday 13 February and their next collection will be Monday 20 February. OBC is advised that residents can take up to 3 bags of household rubbish to the transfer station between the 13th and 20th
We also understand from Auckland Council that it is unlikely that there will be a Recycling collection until the storm has passed.
We suggest you bring your bins in if they’re still out and also check on your neighbours’ bins, please. We will provide further updates about collections as more information becomes available.
