Thanks to all of those who participated in our online survey, and gave us your views on Auckland Council’s proposed bylaw.
The survey results, and your comments, were of great help to us in understanding the feelings of the Omaha Beach community. The results were used to build and support our submission to Council on their proposed bylaw (see separate Post for the OBC’s submission to Council (click here for the link to it).
The survey was open for a month from 16th January 2019.
In total 901 emails inviting participation were sent (this excludes those where the emails ‘bounced’ or they had previously ‘opted out’ of such emails).
We received a total of 533 responses – a response rate of 59%.
83% of survey respondents were against freedom camping in Omaha Beach and, in relation to the Council’s proposed (restricted) sites, between 84% – 88% of respondents did not support any of them.
