An independent, New Zealand owned, brewery it is run by a small team and located in a paddock just outside of Omaha. The raw, rural landscape has a bearing on everything they do, and the people are resourceful, creative and hardworking.
The Smoko Room is the place inside the Sawmill Brewery for food, drink and community. They have 14 beers on tap – all made on-site – an organic wine list and real food. They celebrate local and seasonal produce, sustainably caught fresh fish and under-utilised cuts of meat.
The food menu has been created with the idea in mind to share with friends. The menu changes all the time. The availability of fish, vegetables and even wild goat and venison can depend on the season and the weather.
They are proud of their Brewery and love to show people around. They have set days and times for their brewery tours (see their website for available days or to make a booking).
