Hi, everyone – following our recent AGM, we agreed to provide a template for you to complete with your own personal details to make a claim on Vector for their unplanned outage which occurred on the 30th of October 2023. You have 6 months to register this claim.
We have used the template below and have received confirmation from Vector of their acceptance of the claim and subsequent payment. The address to email this claim template (personalised with your own information) through to is [email protected] or you can call them on 0508 832 867. Our preference is for you to use email so we can create a groundswell.
We encourage you to email this claim request as soon as possible – money often speaks louder than words! Thank you to Ewan McLeod for help in putting this together.
Please be aware that we are currently commencing work with Vector encouraging them to improve the quality of supply of power to our community.

Email text:
Dear Sir/Madam
Reference: Vector’s Residential Electricity Service Standards
Under Vector’s Service Standards, included as a brochure on the Vector website, Vector undertakes to pay $50 (if asked to do so) if power is not restored within certain timeframes following an outage. For rural areas, such as Omaha Beach, the minimum outage timeframe is 4.5 hours or 270 minutes. Claims are to be submitted within 6 months of an eligible outage by phone or email.
An outage in the Omaha area on 30 October 2023 (Reference: 1-5747986716) lasted ~325 minutes. As an unplanned outage event (not excluded by Vector in its Service Standards), we ask that we be compensated $50 by Vector.
Can you please confirm by return email that Vector will honour a compensation payment for this outage and that this will occur within 10 working days? Thank you.
