Hi, everyone – the Auckland Council has asked for our collective input about our Omaha shoreline so we’d encourage all members to please complete the survey at https://akhaveyoursay.aucklandcouncil.govt.nz/shoreline-adaptation-plans
Please note that Omaha is part of the Ti Point to Sandspit plan.
Council’s recent presentation at the Warkworth Town Hall can be viewed here: Shoreline Adaptation Plan – Council Presentation – May24.
From Council:
“Whether you live near the coast, volunteer on the harbour or you are a regular visitor to your local beach, we’re inviting you …. to have your say on how Auckland Council should manage council-owned coastal land and assets, such as parks and public facilities, in the future.
What are shoreline adaptation plans:
- These look at how we will respond to coastal hazards and climate change over the next 100 years, and
- Promote the preservation and restoration of the coastal environment for future generations.
What we want your feedback on:
We want you to tell us what you value about living, working and playing along these shoreline areas and how you use the physical assets (i.e. boat ramps, playgrounds, coastal walkways) that support these spaces.”
