Hi, folks – come and join us at Walkway 3 (northern end of Lagoon Way) from 9am this coming Saturday morning to help with some important planting work.
Unfortunately, a significant area of the dunes has become denuded and it’s important to get new spinifex plants in place ASAP.
Please bring suitable footwear, clothing and headwear, as well as a spade (as narrow as possible) and, if you live nearby, a wheelbarrow. If you don’t have a spade, then we’ll have some spare ones!
Our thanks to the Council for providing the plants.
And if you’re interested in why planting is so important to preserve our dunes then enjoy this excellent video from our friends at the Coastal Restoration Trust – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AfY3-bc3-t8
